As a fan, athlete or visitor, you want all the offers about the event and the sport to be easily accessible on your mobile phone – collected in ONE app.
Geztio was founded in 2015 by entrepreneur Lars-Börje “Bulan” Eriksson after his time as CEO of Åre Destination AB from 2008-2013. The foundation was the realization that consumers and entrepreneurs need to find each other in a more convenient way.
Through Geztio’s analysis-driven, mobile marketplace, the consumer experience can be improved by making the event organizer’s and partners offers easily through the mobile. At the same time, partners and brands can easily and in an appealing way present their products to the guest and to the target group.
The company’s products and services are based on world-leading experience and tourism research by researchers from Mid Sweden University and consist of an analysis platform and an app platform that communicates, advertises and sells the event, sport, arena or destination to the target group.
The company launched its MVP on the analytics platform in the spring of 2017 and the app has been successfully used at, among others, the Alpine World Championships in Åre 2019, the Biathlon World Championships in Östersund 2019, Skitour 2020 and the Womens Curling World Championships 2023.
In 2024, Geztio was acquired by Destiation Technology Sweden AB. Co-owned by “Bulan” and Emvico, owned and operated by former Nexer trio Fredrik Lundkvist, Rickard Falk and Fredrik Andersson. The acquisition marks the start of a long-term investment and ambition to make Geztio an internationally successful brand in events and tourism.
